The Firing of Juan Williams: Feelings Lose to News

JUAN GETS FIRED FOR WHAT? HIRE JUAN WILLIAMS; FEELING CUT OUT?

FRESH** Written inside the update box on Google Buzz right now after watching the reports of the firing of Juan Williams by NPR http://www.npr.org/

The National Public Radio fired Juan Williams Wednesday afternoon in response to commentary deemed to be too personal to be aired on television. I liked Juan Williams and here's what I think about the firing.

Reality does not appear simply because contracts are signed that state how reality is. Basically, NPR took the stance that reporting on reality is not the job of their reporters rather it is in the eyes of the beholder what is real or unreal.

NPR thinks that we should not hear what people are feeling, just what the story is. Bigotry, racism, hate speech, terrorism, Muslim, Christian, black, white, Yellow, brown, colored; the list goes on what cannot be said when speaking around these topics. NPR has let it slip that maybe the control media wants is not what we see but what we feel.

ETHICAL CONTRACTS: Journalism and Sports Contract Negotiations

So Juan goes on Bill O'Reilly and when it's all said and done NPR has made a decision, Juan Williams cannot say how he feels anymore while employed by them.

This is NPR from http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/

This Is NPR:

A thriving media organization at the forefront of digital innovation, NPR creates and distributes award-winning news, information, and music programming to a network of 900 independent stations. Through them, NPR programming reaches 27.2 million listeners every week.

So someone in NPR has just fired a highly respected journalist for saying that when he was flying he had moments of anxiety when seeing a Muslim believer dressed in religious clothing.

That was the lead in to a couple of more retorts from Bill and Juan, as usual, carried himself with personal honor. I believe what he says and NPR proved me right. So here we go again, a corporate adjustment in policy for all to see occurs and there's nothing you or I can do about it but report.

My report will say that this sucks my friend. It sucks because feeling what you feel is not news anymore. News is the news. But whose news is it? Who's making news? Not the man on the street. Not what you'll see on TV because the internet is so strong and getting stronger. Because I am writing this story there will be more news agencies looking back over their own ETHICAL CONTRACTS.

"Hey!" "Forget that what you feel is important and they win the news game". I fear the news has been hijacked already by The Lowliest Power.

There is a paragraph here that I want to state what I feel. I feel scared when I watch people being scared but unable to express their fears. When you take feeling out of the news you have news with no call to action. FEAR drives men to change. It will be the primary emotion in any AMERICAN retreat from the status quo.

As this should be a moderate article I hope not to send you searching for THE Lowliest Power but if you have a need you should go here and keep an eye out for the release of my report. http://www.facebook.com/fuzzywashere
